Elements of a Lab Report

In this assignment the different part of a lab report were analyzed. We were able to demonstrate the purpose of each of them, them later this was used to better guide us on our rhetorical analysis.

Tittle

The tittle should be something interesting that would attract the readers to read your lab report. Sometimes it is useful to include keywords to help readers understand what the subject would be about.

Abstract
The abstract is a small summary of the entire report. Each section of the lab report should be min-imized to 1 sentence or two. The abstract should have information to maintain the reader interest-ing in the rest of the lab report.

Introduction

The introduction is the part of the lab report where you begin to elaborate your work. In the in-troduction we include our hypothesis. We want to question anything that would be prove or dis-prove with our research in the other part of the lab report. In the introduction we also include a summary of the method or step that would be discussed in more detail on our other section.

Material and Methods

The Material and Methods part include all the equipment that were needed to conduct the exper-iment. In this part you want to include your procedure step by step. Is important to include any dates, time & equipment specific. IS important to be specific here because you want your exper-iment to be able to be duplicate if needed by someone. Also, here we include any problem that occurred during the actual experiment & how we continue instead.

Results

In this section of the lab report you include your actual data obtained from your research; you want to be as precise as possible to obtain more accurate data. The result should be presented in the same way you mention on the methods to help maintain better organization and help the reader understand your findings. You can organize your finding with graph, tables, or diagram to help organize your research and locate any trends.

Discussion

In the discussion is where we help the reader analyze our results. We can discuss any trends in our lab report, also we can discuss any error in the lab report. In this area we want to discuss the major finding from the lab report. If the lab report goes against our initial hypothesis, we want to discuss why this happen. We can also suggest how we can make this lab report better if someone else would conduct this experiment in the future.

Conclusion

The conclusion summarizes our whole experiment. We want to summarize our mains points to the readers. We want to summarize our finding & persuade our readers why it was important to con-duct the research on this lab.
